The Cost of Lenses

I switched from Canon to Sony a couple of years ago.  The most glaring con is the cost of Sony lenses.  Sony lenses can be 2x to 3x more expensive than the Canon equivalent.

Additionally, Canon has a better lineup of good (not great) lenses that provide excellent quality at an affordable price.  I'm not arguing against the Sony lens lineup.  It's very good now, much better than years ago.  However, Canon has a range of lenses around $400 that have no match in the Sony world.

For my usage, I kept my Canon L lenses and the good lenses (e.g. 40mm STM) and use them on my a7 iii with a Metabones adapter as it would cost me nearly $2000 to sell the Canon lenses and get equivalent Sony lenses.

Adapting lenses is not for everyone. It's quirky at best.
