Re: Minolta A1

Sounds like , amongst possibly other things , the anti-shake is on it's way out .

Parts are no longer available , even if they were to be found the cost of labour to repair it would be several times more than a fully working camera is worth .

Time to get a replacement I think .

.

If you like the form factor of this camera , especially if you have the battery grip , you might like to have a look at the DiMage A2 ; https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/konicaminoltaa2

Both the A1 and A2 use the same batteries , so you'll already have some spares .

.

I prefer the the Dimage A200 , partly because of the swiveling rear screen ; https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/konicaminoltaa200

I also still use this camera from time to time when I'm shooting medium or large format film , but also want a compact digital option with the equivalent of a 28-200mm lens , rather than my DSLR or NEX 7 and several lenses .

Both these  cameras use an 8 megapixel sensor and can share accessories such as the wideangle , telephoto and macro converter lenses along with the same flash guns .

.

There are much more modern camera to buy new or used , but at the price these go for you can't complain .

For best results , shoot RAW and develop in modern software such as Lightroom .
