... here is a RAW file for you. I realised that when I started Darktable, it would possibly take me a while to even remotely understand how the software works and then even longer until I can get results.

So after the luma masking thread where some people chimed in telling me a few things about Darktable and LightZone, I thought about what those who are good at editing images with that software, what would they get out of my RAW files.

I think the file is very usable and not particularly difficult to work with. The ISO was set to 2000, but the image had a correction of -1.3 EV. There is noise visible on some of the flowers and some colour smudgyness on the left hand side in the darker parts of the leaves:

Here is my Capture One 11 conversion, WB left as "shot". Some tweaking was applied here and there, mostly on A. I spent less than a minute on the file (clicked A then corrected exposure, highlight recovery, applied a vignette and added detail) No local adjustments, no colour masking etc:

And for those who are really good at editing, here is an image taken with the X-E2 on the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo. I have no idea as to how to make that image look any good in C1:

A fabulous part of the world, but the image had "delete" written all over it but I kept it to see what maybe one day I can do with it.

Thanks for your help!
