Rereading my comment I might have benn confusing. The hack provides fully electronic silent shutter at the proce of rolling shutter artefacts and somewhat decreased DR (so more noise in high ISO as well). EFCS just uses electronic clearing of the sensor so it skips the front curtain (that it stores away and that's the sound you hear).

EFCS interested me, but an electronic shutter doesn't, if only because I need all the DR I can pull from the camera.

If it says so in the Manual then I was wrong. Sorry. Still different exposures happen only with EFCS in continuous shooting to me. Maybe even only in high mode. What's the lighting like when it happens? Some light sources flicker and can throw off metering between frames. Also, since the aperture is fixed, does the ISO or SS vary between the frames?

Re: the lighting, I'm almost always photographing outdoors with ambient light, so it's usually steady and consistent. I'm also using adapted manual lenses, so the aperture value doesn't change between photos, either.

Another thing that was driving me crazy was dynamic range+ mode (or what's the name, it's in the same submenu as HDR, on screen icon is like small horizontal gradient) that can slightly change the exposure even with the same A/SS/ISO since it's like subtle tone mapping that you have no control over. Can cause weird pulsing in videos as well. I always turn it off.

I leave this turned off because preserving highlights comes at the expense of DR, plus I almost always photograph at base ISO to minimize noise and that's now this "feature" works.
