lately my Canon EOS 300D is showing some problems.

My knee-jerk reaction when one of these older cameras starts behaving wacky is to suspect that either the processor is confused, the date/time battery is going dead, or both.

I'd suggest removing both batteries -- the main rechargeable and the CR2016 "button" date/time battery -- from the camera and letting it sit for a few minutes before putting them back in. That will allow the processor to reset.

If that works for you, you might consider buying a new CR2016 date/time battery, since those are usually good for just a few years -- the manual says five years -- and that one's probably over a decade old.

It's also possible the main rechargeable battery is losing its ability to hold a charge, but that's usually a lot more obvious.

Usually after one or two shots the camera shows an error and stops.

What error is it showing?
