Re: Panasonic 20mm f1.7 and 14mm f2.5

Nice. I think I'll be happy with the 20mm.

The 20mm is well regarded by many here.  Its FL doesn't quite work for me.  I bought a 25/1.8 instead.

The 14mm also appeals to me for the wide angle and small size, but I also feel like this range is the most redundant, as my standard zoom starts here and any wide zoom I get will include it.

The 14/2.5 was my very first prime lens when I migrated to m43.  This is old school 28mm efl.  I come from film days where 28mm and 50mm efl were pretty standard lenses.  My 14/2.5 is now permanently paired with a wide converter giving me a 10.6/2.5 UWA lens.

I am also very drawn to the look and feel of the 15mm. Something about its build is very attractive. But again, I think the 20mm is a more practical choice for me, for now at least.

The 15mm is my most used lens and is perfect with my GM1 when I want a simple, smallest and lightest one-camera-one-lens setup.

Do you have thoughts about the wide zoom options? I'm less enamored with the cheap 9-18mm right now. I'm dreaming of the Leica 8-18, and also considering the 7-14. I think I'll make a separate post for these.

Don't sell yourself short on the 9-18.  For traveling, it's perfect due to its size/weight.
