Re: Panasonic 20mm f1.7 and 14mm f2.5

Nice. I think I'll be happy with the 20mm.

The 14mm also appeals to me for the wide angle and small size, but I also feel like this range is the most redundant, as my standard zoom starts here and any wide zoom I get will include it.

I am also very drawn to the look and feel of the 15mm. Something about its build is very attractive. But again, I think the 20mm is a more practical choice for me, for now at least.

Do you have thoughts about the wide zoom options? I'm less enamored with the cheap 9-18mm right now. I'm dreaming of the Leica 8-18, and also considering the 7-14. I think I'll make a separate post for these.

Congrats on the GX9!  I was researching it and the Pen F and came to the decision the GX9 was the right fit me.

You should choose your primes for the range you like to shoot with.  I like the 15mm range and used the PanaLeica 15mm for about 70% of the time on my recent  vacation, even though i had my 12-60 kit zoom with me.  I just picked up the Panasonic 25mm  and am liking that.  I skipped the 20 for now mostly because I think that'll be to close to the other 2.

I'm pondering a wide zoom too, but that will most likely have to wait until spring. I'm leaning towards the PanaLieca because of the wider aperture, but will really start doing my homework when I get ready to purchase.
