The 20mm is an excellent lens. Some here always complain that the SAF is too slow, but I find it okay. Just a bit slower than most other m4/3 lenses.

This is an attempt to put the 20mm in some sort of reasonable perspective. The 20mm SAF is as fast or faster and as quiet or quieter than many loved Fuji primes. I haven't heard people complaining about them much.

I find the SAF speed and noise of the Panasonic 20mm f1.7 to be acceptable, but many here do not. It has slower SAF than most other m4/3 lenses and also is slightly louder (but in absolute terms it is not really slow or noisy). Pretty much every other m4/3 lens is faster and quieter. Again, both aspects are okay for me, but for many they are unacceptable. If you think the 20mm is too slow and/or noisy then you will find that many of the Fuji lenses are like the 20mm. I like the Panasonic 20mm. I also have the Olympus 25mm f1.8, 45mm f1.8, and Panasonic 14mm f2.5. All very good lenses.

By the way, the Panasonic 14mm f2.5 is also an excellent lens. It has very fast AF. It is tiny and the f2.5 speed is pretty good since for a wide angle it is often less important to have f1.2, f1.7, etc. Price is also very good and much less than the Panasonic 15mm f1.7. I got mine new for $160.
