I definitely don't want to swivel the whole articulating screen out when I'm in the street.

Why not? If you don't want to conceal what you are doing, it doesn't really matter. Fully articulating screen is in fact more flexible, you can adjust it for best view, and it doesn't have to be used for selfies at all. Also, you can reverse it, for additional protection, or to make the camera looking even more retro.

I wonder do you know what a twin lens reflex is? A Rolleiflex a famous twin lens reflex used by famous street photographer Vivian Maier (and others) all looking down.

I guess you could call it creepy! I certainly enjoy the work she did on the street looking down through the hood of her Rollei. Not a lot difference from looking down at an LCD on a digital camera, what do you think as you seem to have very strong opinions about street photography...

Frankly I find today's approach to stuffing a camera with a flash in someones face as creepy, or hiding on a street corner with a 200mm lens creepy but that is just me.

In any case the GX9 and the Pen F are both excellent cameras.

Cheers, Terry

Yes! I also love the documentary about her, Finding Vivien Maier. Terrific movie.

I don't even shoot people. I mostly shoot empty scenes, maybe with an anonymous person walking through it. But I still love the posture of looking down into the camera, the lens pointing up. I don't love holding the screen of my phone to my face. I appreciate the viewing options of the GX9.
