Re: Pen F vs GX9

I've not used a PenF. I have owned several Olympus bodies and have lusted after the PenF. But I bought the GX9. Olympus/Panasonic bodies each offer a few really desirable features the other doesn't. I think Live view, live bulb, and especially live composite are really neat features. I've not used them much, but they could be in the "must have" category for some. Others may not ever use them. Some of the 4k tricks on the Panasonic bodies are pretty cool. I suppose in part I went for the GX9 because I wanted to try something different. I've also read many reviews indicating the focus system on the Panasonic bodies was faster and more sure than on the Olympus bodies. CAF on the PenF is widely regarded as a pretty much unusable. And I've read many user comments suggesting that SAF in the PenF wasn't as fast or sure in low light as the SAF in the E-M10ii, which I own. So I opted for the GX9. It's forte is clearly street and travel. I really like it as an everyday companion. I find the IQ better than my E-M10ii or E-M1i. Biggest complaint is the EVF. I find it perfectly useable and bright, but I'd say the OLED on the E-M10ii is better (I think the EVF in the PenF is very similar though the magnification might be a bit different?).
