I am happy with the lens. I was skeptical when buying 30/1.4.

From one hand I had very bad own experience with a SIGMA lens AF but it was around 18 years before when I bought one for a film CANON camera. From another hand within a few years I listen about SIGMA lenses: front focus, back focus, front focus, back focus.

My lens has right AF:

All SIGMAs are heavy but here I feel a good balance with a 450gr body.

I absolutely love the build quality and design. Lens has two different mate black coatings. The hood as well. I listened: “not nice lens hood”. I like. Tests differ.

The lens looks smaller and nicer than I saw at the pictures.

Perfect manual focusing ring.

Really nice boke - one more surprise.

The only my cons is a “heavy filling” of AF and it’s noisy but for stills is acceptable. SONY has not such lens yet, so there’s no a choice.

Only with 30/1.4 I started to enjoy my a6500.

It is really worthy of a rating of five stars given the reasonable price.
