I've been using my A7R3 a lot in the rain and near/out on the ocean. Today to my horror I noticed some green flaky corrosion on the small inner metal terminals of the hotshoe mount, looks like the type you'd see on a car battery.

Any tips on safely removing this?

No tips on removing not, but:

- do not believe implied marketing (or fanßoy) claims regarding weatherproofing!

- the hotshoe is a known weak spot. Always leave the hotshoe cover on. I then additionally cover the hotshoe cover with a strip of gaffers tape, so no water can seep in along the cover's sides.

- use a rain cover.
