Those of you that are consuming a lot of disk space, what are your storage drives like? Are you guys using things like RAID boxes? How often do you purchase additional drives?

Are all your photos live as in connected to your computer or do you archive them and store the drive elsewhere?

I have all of them backed as duplicates (not RAID) on separate 3GB HDDs. This includes all my work-related archives as well. RAID is not much use if you have a power outage or malware attack.

Never connect more than one drive at a time, and simply repeat the backup script.

Each primary copy is periodically copied to a compact MyPassport drive and left with friends. Critical stuff is encrypted and backed up to the cloud, and this includes the 200 or so images in my main portfolio (the ones I have printed).
