Sigma 120-300 w/TC for BIF

Was wondering if there are any Sigma 120-300 F2.8 Sport wildlife shooters out here. I'm contemplating using it along with a 1.4 TC for BIF. I had all the consumer zooms: Nikon 200-500, Sigma and Tamron 150-600's. Tired of the 5.6 and 6.3 apertures. I'm fully aware of the 500 and 600 F4 primes, but so is my wallet and wife. The zooms are so versatile. There is no way I can justify the cost of one of those no matter how much I love photography. I would be pairing this lens with my D850. I know this lens with a TC is "only 420mm on FF, but the D850 allows great cropping ability. Anyone with experience I would appreciate your thoughts. Anyone else feel free to add your thoughts too, please.
