I was outside in my driveway this afternoon, putting my Yakima Sky Box on my Expedition for a trip to Canada next week. All of a sudden I heard wing beats go behind me and into my garage. It was a pigeon. I thought that was weird. A few seconds later I saw a falcon land in my neighbor's tree. Okay, that makes sense. I hurried inside to mount my 500/4E on my D500 and took a few photos. Tough shooting through branches, but pretty cool to see this in my driveway.
I shot this in Aperture mode, I suppose Manual with Auto ISO might have been better. Or even better, since this was a stationary subject, I could have shot a much lower SS to allow a lower ISO. I went back inside to put my TC-14 E II on, but it flew before I could get any more images. I really like this lens, but after reading reviews f the 500/5.6 PF, I wonder if I'd go that route today.
