Last month, I fulfilled a long-cherished wish and took part in a photo tour to the Beelitz Heilstätten in Brandenburg near Berlin. This is a gigantic old sanatorium built to cure tuberculosis from 1898 -1930. Last used by the sowjets as military hospital and finally abandoned in 1994. It was about time, as gradually all buildings are sold and renovated and therefore no more tours will take place. The beautiful Whitney Houston house eg was already closed. Interestingly some rooms look almost like new, because they were renovated for movie sets like “valkyrie” or “a cure fore wellness” I arrived the day before, next morning we had a wonderful autumn day. We were a total of about 60 participants. Everything was represented the mobile photographer with a handful of power banks, medium format film camera Pentacon Six, a drone, bridge cameras, of course many dslrs and together with me at least 3x Fuji. A nice couple from Holland, they both had X-T20. What I thought was great, no one was looked at funny, all just indulged their nice hobby. That is the way it should be. The 7 (!) hours passed quickly as already announced in the morning by the guide and I started the journey home. On the long train ride home then i had the idea to make a photo film. Since I also spontaneously created a few video sequences, i wanted to combine that. Since I had to work into a new editing program at the same time, that was quite a challenge. But now, tada, my 4K Beelitz photo film . I realize that there are already a billion Beelitz photos on the web. But not many are made with a Fuji. I used X-E2, X-T20, 16-50, 18-55, Walimex 12mm and XF 35 1.4. Runtime about 5:40 min. Best viewed on big screen or TV hd or 4K. Hope you enjoy.
