Re: Safari Decision... leave the Oly 40-150 Pro behind?

I recently came back from a safari and used the Panasonic 100-400 on the EM1 MkII and the Olympus 12-40 on the Pen F.  My opinion is that the 100-400 is an absolute necessity, but I found that I sorely missed the range between 40-100.  If I could do it again, I would have swapped out the 12-40 for the 12-100, but I was trying to save weight.

I found the Panasonic to be fine during dawn/dusk, even with the slower aperture.  There were a few times where the f2.8 of the 12-40 came in useful, but likely far fewer than the times I wished I had longer range and ended up having to use my Samsung Note 8 telephoto to get a better picture.

If you could go with the 100-400 and 12-100 on separate cameras, I think that's a more valuable combination than the 40-150.
