Trip to Patagonia

I made a short trip to the Magallanes region in Southern Chile. Always a good place to see wildlife. Very windy this time of the year (it is the kind of wind that can break your car's door if you are not careful). In some occasions I had trouble holding the camera steady and even focusing. Here go some images (many are cropped).

The Patagonian steppe

A Guanaco

Darwin's Rheas sharing the land with sheep

The endangered Ruddy-headed Goose

An Ashy-headed Goose

And a female Kelp goose

Crossing the Strait of Magellan

A Giant Petrel taking off

One of the many shipwrecks that can be seen along the coast

A Southern Crested Caracara

Magellanic Oystercatcher (far way from any oysters)

Chilean flamingos
