My last comment was in reply to Mentor on.
I was commenting about the Fujifilm camera he had posted.
Read his comment, then read mine and you will get the point.
Yes , I understand about re-branding .
However this thread is about "Is Minolta making digital cameras again?"
and your post on re-branding is titled " Is Minolta making digital cameras again?"
.
These cameras seem to have nothing at all to do with Minolta / KonicaMinolta , and are not made by Sanyo or anyone else for KonicaMinolta , and so has nothing to do with re-branding .
No warranty is offered by KM .
The branding of "Minolta" has been claimed on these cameras ( rightly or wrongly) as an abandoned trademark , but has been done to (seemingly) dupe people into believing they are buying something with the Minolta heritage and quality .
It's true in the past that Minolta had firms like Cosina make some camera models and badge them as Minolta , but there is not a single piece of evidence that this has happened with these cameras .
What I think you fail to understand is that the comment was isolated from the rest of the thread.
I was simply pointing out that Mentor's Fujifilm camera re-badge is not uncommon, the comment was separate from the rest of the thread.
A previous comment I made about Cosina (and others...) making stuff for Minolta (the original brand, not the current one) had to do with comments from another member here along the line that Minolta always made all its on gear.
Again that was a separate issue from the initial question in this particular thread.
