Hello. I will be going on a safari in Tanzania. I was planning to take the PL 100-400 mounted on the Lumix G9, the Olympus 40-150 Pro mounted on the Olympus EM10 mk2 and the Olympus 12-40 Pro in my bag, or mounted on the EM10, with the 40-150 in the bag.

For space and weight reasons, I am wondering if I could afford to leave the Oly 40-150 Pro behind?

What are your thoughts?

To be honest ...I dont understand the weight reasons .

thanks for your reply. About the weight restriction, we are getting on a bush plane and we were told that the weight limit is 15kg (check luggage AND carry on as well as restrictions about the check luggage i.e. soft bag).

What did I have with me :

Ipad Pro + iPhone 5 and all necesary equipt .

E-M1 I

E-M1 II

E-M5 I

300mm Pro , 40-150 Pro , 100-300mm (backup), 12-40Pro , 17mm . 1.4 converter.

Two different chargers + load of Batt , for Tanzania I had a guide so I did not need Garmin Gps .

Medium size Flash .

And no one complained about weight when checking in the aircraft .

Perhaps you can "abuse" your partner ..... extra storage in her pretty storage tank

Funny that you assume that my partner is a she!!! I am the “she” and my husband will help when possible.

Just take the 40-150 Pro ..... you will regret it if you leave it at home.....

I tend to agree, now that I have read all the replies.

I have been many times on Safari ( I dont want to make you jalous ) ... next ...I am addicted

Forget the bean bag and use the touristclass blanket instead.

I had no intention of bringing a bean bag.

And if you can go instead of Arusha Np to Taranguire and then to Lake Manyara NP

Too late for changes!

Enjoy ....fully !

I will certainly try! Because unlike you, I think it will be my one and only safari. I simply cannot afford more.
