Hello. I will be going on a safari in Tanzania. I was planning to take the PL 100-400 mounted on the Lumix G9, the Olympus 40-150 Pro mounted on the Olympus EM10 mk2 and the Olympus 12-40 Pro in my bag, or mounted on the EM10, with the 40-150 in the bag.

For space and weight reasons, I am wondering if I could afford to leave the Oly 40-150 Pro behind?

What are your thoughts?

This article might help.

i will take a look. Thanks!

While I love the 12-40, the gap between it and the 100-400 is quite large. And while the 12-100 fills the gap well, it's at the expense of lens speed.

I tend to bring both 40-150 and 100-400 lenses when I travel, but if you have limits then I would bring the 12-40, 100-400, and the 14-150 to fill the gap.

I do not have the 14-150. Maybe you mean the 40-150 Pro?

Out during the day, I'd put the 14-150 on the E-M10 and the 100-400 on the G9. I'd use the 12-40 when I was shooting low light or landscapes.

When I travel in cities, I like to add the 9-18. But for outdoor landscape, it's easy to stitch panoramas with the 12-40.

I too like to have a wide angle lens when travelling to cities. But I have very often used the 12-40 to stich panoramas with great success.
