Thanks Phil. I agree with the precaution to take in case the 100-400 fails. But, the weight limit is 15kg and that has to include my checked luggage so I cannot carry all the gear you list here (even if I owned it all). I asked the question in the first place because of weight restrictions.

  • Two E-M1 ii bodies
  • 12-100 mm mounted
  • 100-400 mm mounted
  • 12-40 mm
  • 40-140 with TC-14
  • 25 mm

That said I am going to some urban areas too, so want my 12-100. If the 100-400 acts up I have the 40-150 w 1.4. The 12-40 is small and light and backs up the 12-100. It is also faster. I don't take all this out in the field, but leave it at the camp during the excursions. I can decide which pair to take at the start of the day.
