Videos over exposed.

I am retiring my old Canon Power shot a720, which I have mounted on the dash board, in a quick release. Just bought a new Panasonic ZS 100 to take it's place, for from the car videos, when I'm on day trips looking for photo opps. I was never able find a way to darken videos on the canon, and now the ZS. is also slightly over exposing. Not near as bad as the Canon, but still a little washed out. I adjusted exposure compensation down, before going on a trill run. I drove in heavy tree shaded and bright sun, and found that shaded was a little too bright, sunny areas, much too bright. There is no way to attach filters, so that's out. Any suggestions will be appreciated:
