Re: Advice on new lens for wildlife photography

Hi,

Here is a post of mine from a couple of years ago that may be of some help...

https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/58320600

If I go out on my own I take D750 and Sigma 150-600 C.

My partner and I often go out together,

I take D750 and Nikon 200-500.

She takes D7200 and Sigma 150-600 C.

She finds the 200-500 uncomfortable, but the 150-600 is fine.

I think the most important thing to take away from the tests I did is "Would the gear you use make the difference between a good photo and a bad one?"

Best of luck with your decision.

Graham

PS. In the UK we have several reputable store that sell used equipment, this may be a way of increasing your options.

REMEMBER:
Photography is all about light.
Cameras and lenses are all about compromise.
Image quality is all about viewing distance.
Great photos are made by great photographers, not by great cameras.
