I don't have a G7 (I have a GX85), but it also has a movie mode (AKA Creative Video Mode) on the mode dial. It's the symbol with a movie camera and an "M". This is the only mode that actually controls all the video settings.

Note that in all the PASM modes on the mode dial, you can still press record button, but the settings you choose do not effect the video (rather video is full auto).

Once in the Creative Video Mode, you can tap the top right corner on touch screen and it'll allow you to switch between P A S M for your video settings (alternatively you can go in Menu > Motion Picture > Exposure Mode). See page 126.

You can then change aperture/shutter speed/ISO etc as you do with stills. You can also use the touch screen menu on the right side to change these settings if you want to minimize noise from the buttons.

Maybe its because you have a different version but im not able to get anything by tapping on the right corner. There's no soft button there to tap. On the right edge center were some slide out tab menus. In that the SS F-Stop all are greyed out and not select-able.

Sorry, I had a typo. I meant top left. It's the movie camera symbol and by default there is a "P" next to it (for P mode).

You can refer to the manual linked on page 126

Top Left Corner of screen when mode dial is set to "Creative Video Mode"

Thanks Jake ! I figured it out. Its the button that you have shown but inside that seems to be a sub menu showing 3 options S (for shutter priority), A (for aperture priority) and M (for full manual). Had to choose M and now im all set. :). Too bad i didn't know this yesterday, went out and shot a lot of stuff, all on full auto. Its embarrassing after filming with DSLRs all these years. Bruised dignity !. LOL.
