I recently bought a Meikon housing for a sony A6000 camera. It worked fine for me on a couple of dives. However lately when I put it in the housing and close the door and turn it on I get this error message "cannot recognize lens. Attach it properly".. I researched this error message on many A6000 websites and it basically says that the connectors between the body and the lens are not communicating properly.. Once I take the camera out of the housing that message goes away.. I am assuming that somehow when the camera goes in the housing it "moves" the lens and somehow makes it not seated properly.. I am very frustrated.. any ideas would be appreciated (please don't suggest a different camera, or a different housing.. I am aware I could do that, but I have already invested in this set up, surely there is a way I can make it work?)..

THANKS

1. check the contacts. Many of my Nex cameras have the same problem..and I have been frustrated as you are.

2. take off filters and look carefully about the distance between the front elements of your lens and the port glass of the housing.
