When I said "While researching another subject" I was referring to an investigation into micro-contrast gained by post-processing. The scene, seen many times here, is my test scene. The transformer on the pole is a pretty good neutral gray, not that I used it for these images, IIRC.

More fun stuff. By averaging the left and the right image and do minor adjustments of white and black point + sharpness, you end up with a very nice result.

As a result, none of the above images are color-accurate, properly balanced, etc. etc, IMHO.

It was mainly the difference between them that caught my eye.
