Old Sigma 70-200mm F/2.8 APO HSM EX thoughts.

I have just purchased the old Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO HSM EX (but non DG or OS) to give me more flexibility alongside my Nikon af-s 300mm F/4 prime,

it was cheap & local so I could have a look/test & for its age its very clean & the focus is supprisingly quick it just has one problem where it stops autofocusing say every 30-40 shots, there seems to be no reason it does it & to clear the problem I just turn the camera off & back on again & its ready to go again,

I am not to concerned because its just a back up lens, the manual focus works fine & as I say it was cheap enough but I just wondered if anyone had used this & had any thoughts on the lens itself & also the intermitent focus problem, Thanks, Jon.
