Connection problem with Tamron 28-75mm XR Di

Hey guys, so I own the Tamron 28-75 XR Di (the older one that doesn't have IS). I used it with my 6D for almost two years shooting video, and it's got no problem.

I recently purchased a 1DXm2, and at random intervals while filming (sometimes 1 minute in, sometimes less, sometimes more), the camera would snap out of the video mode and show the message "Ensure lens is attached. Press (live view) button to activate shooting mode".

I just tried the lens on my 6D, no problem (also used alcohol swap to clean the connection point). I tried Canon 50mm on the 1DX2 and filmed for 20 minutes with no problems also.

I'm just out of ideas now and not sure exactly what is causing this problem, please help!
