I have a degree in commercial photography and sent 20 years as a full time pro in the film era. I lot of my output was for publication. That meant my color work was transparencies. There was no such thing as post processing for those images - everything had to be right in camera.

I shoot RAW with my Canon digital camera for the sake of shooting expediency knowing I could correct a multitude of sins in post.

I got my X-E3 primarily for trave, but I’ve fallen in love with the results I can get.  I still capture a RAW file as a safety, but I usually just use JPEGS. The film sims are great, but I often tweak them to get the look I want. I’ve gone back to spending a little extra time at capture to save boatloads of time in post.

Choose whatever converter you want, but strive to not use it for everyday photos.
