Plotter scratching prints

My Z3200 has scratched a couple of prints on palo duro softgloss. It does not scratch them all, I have printed several others with no damage. It does not scratch them for the entire length, but the scratches that happened are 3 to 6 inches long. The scratches are very straight and in line with the direction of feed, on the left side of the plotter when looking at it head on.

My first guess are the small metal wheels at the output of the plotter. These wheels are very thin and have teeth, looking just like tiny circular saw blades. They are on an axle on top of another with small rubber rollers, and this assembly is right where the paper exits the plotter after receiving ink. It seems that perhaps a few of these metal discs are putting a score in the paper. I don't know how, if they can stick independently, or dig in too deeply in one spot but not another.

Is there some way to do either a test of their function, or resolve the issue?

Or is there another area of the plotter I should check?

Will try to post pics this evening.
