Now that is very interesting. I'll be looking into that. And I happen to have a 60mm macro lens that is otherwise unused.

I'd rather try that wet lens on the 105, if it works. Reason being, I don't use the 60mm for macro because you have to get way too close to subjects for any kind of reasonable magnification. Still, it would sure be nice to have that option...

Doubtful. Even if it does, it won't have near as wide a field of view as on a 60mm - see port chart here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hhsQB4t2e1i-smf2mCNkj3DzIAoEgRIH/view

You can see how with longer lenses - i.e. 50mm on APS-C, which is a 75mm FF-equivalent - its angle of view goes down from 150° to 115°; a 105mm lens on FF will probably get around 70°, which is probably not worth bothering with. It's ideally matched with Nikon 60mm FF and MFT 30mm - Canon and Sony don't have a 60mm FF lens, nor any 40mm macro lenses for their APS-C systems either. If I understand it correctly, it also won't work with lenses that extend to focus. Still, since you shoot full-frame Nikon, it will give you a much more compact setup that will be capable of macro and wide-angle on the same dive - even super-macro if you add a diopter on a dual-flip holder.
