Fuji XT3 + XF 35mm 1.4 for toddler photos

I have a XT20 and both 35mm f1.4 and f2 versions. I shoot S-AF.

My observations when shooting my toddlers:

- when light gets low (example, nighttime in living room with floor lamps on) the f2 is still snappy and has no problem AF. The 1.4 is ok, occasional misfocus, it gets the job done but it takes noticeably more time to AF then the f2. I have missed some shots because it couldnt acquire AF as fast as the f2.

- However, i prefer the rendering of the 1.4 lens, as well as having 1.4.

So I am in a dilemma of which to keep.

Question for XT3 owners, specifically when photographing toddlers, with the XF 35mm 1.4....has the AF on this lens with the XT3 increased noticeably? Fast enough for toddler photography?

Thanks for any insight!
