Re: AF accuracy Lumix 100-300 vs 100-300 II

I've had that experience as well with the 100-400 and the G85. That's why I eventually got rid of it. Too many times I'd come back from a shoot and images that should have been a slam dunk were not sharp/OOF. You know the kind, raptor on a post 30 yds away, sitting in my car, engine off, lens resting on the rolled down window, shutter speed 1/1600, and still, 30 shots and no keepers. My hope was that the G9 wouldn't have those issues, so  I got the 100-300 and it was the "here we go again". My plan was to use the 100-300 for walking trips and to get the 100-400 for more serious trips, shooting out of the car or on a tripod. Interestingly (at least to me) is that until recently I had the Oly 40-150/2.8 pro with a 1.4x, and though it was really not long enough, I never had these problems with it. I have a rental 100-400 coming Monday. If that doesn't work for me, I'll try the Oly 300/4.

Just my opinion and just for fun!
