Could have been perfect at 16-55 then we don't need the new 16-80

But Fuji gotta make $$ somehow by creating different sausages of different length not unlike BMW

I don't drool for the 16-55 but will wait for the 16-80 OIS (emphasize here) instead

Yes, resale of the 18-55 is anemic, just like any other kit lens even though this one is NOT

This is actually a very common focal range (16-80), and it's my personally preferred zoom range... Nikon/Canon both make them in DX/FX formats, so does Sigma. I plan to upgrade when it comes out, depending on price. Nikon came out with the 24-120 in 1996. Canon had a 28-135, then came with the 24-105L.

I don't really like zooms, but when I do I want a little more versatility than an 18-55 provides.

16-80 will be a really good travel and walkaround zoom.

The Nikon 16-85 DX lens was easily my most used Nikon lens.  I hope the 16-80 is in the same league.
