EOS M50 vs M5
Hi Winston,
Although the M5 has a deeper buffer (if you shoot RAW this might be important for shooting BIF) the M50 has an edge for processing power and speed due to the digic 8 processor. Since a few days I own the M50 and it was hard to decide between the M50 and M5 because they are in the same price range overhere in The Netherlands. I decided for the M50 because it uses the LP-E12 battery and I have quite a few of them because I also own the M1 and M10. With LP-E12 batteries one doesn't have to worry that much about compatability with 3 party ones.
The M5 was a tempting option because of all the separate dedicated wheels and knobs but I realized I could do without them because I am already used to the way the M and M10 works using the display. Most of the time I shoot in Av mode and set the aperature with the wheel at the shutter button. The exposure compesation or iso is set via the display.
I also own the both the EF-M 55-200 and EF 55-250 STM for birding the 55-250 is far better than the 55-200. I am using the original Canon EF-EFM converter and it works with every combination of lenses I used so far without any problem. For the modest difference in price I would go for the Canon converter and leave the 3 party ones.
