The problem with speed boosters is that they will fit basically all lenses. In other words, none of them are tailored for a specific lens so you're basically putting one-size-fits-all glass between your prime lens and the sensor. It's like putting a generic teleconverter on your lens.  Fuji for example and some other manufacturers, have spent very big bucks on designing custom teleconverters for certain lenses to provide optimal performance.  With the speed booster, it's just a hunk of glass that's not designed for anyone specific lens so the risk of some poor IQ could be pretty high.
