On the rim of two Icelandic craters

the wall of ash around the rim here rises up 180m above the surounding area. The well formed tephra crater is huge with a diameter of about 1000m making it one of the largest of this type on the planet!
On the far left my family are just starting out on the 3km round trip around the rim.
To get an idea of the size if you zoom in to the far side there are some tiny people just visible on the rim.

A lake in the 2nd crater near Landmannalaugar.
Those wonderful red rocks and green moss contrast nicely with each other and the blue of the lake and sky

C&C welcome
