Dedicated dials vs push-dial

I was in a recent discussion about the usage of the dials on the X-T2. While on cameras with PASM like the G7 or FZ-1000, the push-dial is obviously the optimized way for quickly changing two settings (e.g. switching between A and EC in A-priority by pushing in the dial, S/EC in S-priority, or A/S in manual, ...).

But for Fuji cameras with both dedicated dials and the flexible push-dial, what's your preferred method? With my limited experience of the X-T20, I assume that it's personal preferences, and neither is clearly superior? Would love to hear your opinion/experience weighing in the advantages of your choice.
