EOS M50 vs M5

Hi
So I've been wanting to upgrade from my 400D for a while now, and I want to make the switch to the mirrorless system. Right now I have the Canon EOS 400D with it's original kit lens and 55-250mm f/4-5.6 III. I've read on the internet that the only good thing the M5 has for it is the operating temperature and the control dials? I do bird photography, street and I take my camera with me (or I would like to) on tramps. Also, should I get the 55-200mmf/4.5-5.6 and sell my 55-250? I'm kinda worries about the reach that the 200mm provides even on the 1.6x crop. I should also probably mention that I'm able to get the camera for about 700 USD and I have around 200 USD spare for the lens. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
I am using EFS 55-250 IS STM through EF-to-EFM adapter with M5. It works very well. If you do not have to keep the size of the whole package small, you do not have to replace EFS 55-250 for EFM 55-200. Morevoer, you can use your kit lens as well. But remember you need the adapter for EF or EFS lenses.
