Happened this morning at Southend Central. Ticket clerks told me it was illegal to take images of public places and got the security guard on me? Firstly, it’s not, secondly, I thought National Rail is privately owned? In any case, it even says on their website that photography is welcomed as long as it’s not of security cameras.

Anyone know my rights on this? I made a complaint but am thinking of going back to set them straight.

I was using my tiny X100t.

Where is this?

Southend is a seaside town in the county of Essex in the UK.

Vic

It happened to me once in Poland. Russian soldiers told me to hand over my film.

That would have been a long time ago, in communist Poland. A slightly different scenario to Southend.

You won't meet many Russian soldiers in Poland now, so if you want to go back to take those photos, it's safe
