Does anyone knows, of a way, to reset the camera? Is there any battery that powers the configuration, like the date, etc? Is it a good idea to remove that battery? What happens when you don't use a camera for too long? Should one remove the battery of the camera? Can the battery damage the camera? I've read different opinions...

There will be some sort of electrical storage device, capacitor possibly, to remember the time, date etc. but it's not usually customer accessible.

It's always wise to remove the battery from any device that is being stored for any great period. Batteries can and will leak, especially as they reach their use-by date, which could be virtually any time after the warranty runs out

If the battery leaks it will almost certainly damage the camera, as to whether that damage is terminal will depend on the extent of the damage ... anything from a tarnished battery contact to a completely corroded circuit board!

No you scared me I never remove my batteries. I mean I got cameras that are stored, for more than one year, with the battery inside. Could those batteries really leak, like regular AA ones? Do you think it was the fact that the battery was inside the camera thay damage my NX300? Thanks
