I had read several places that the IQ of SX60 not as good as the SX50. I originally wanted a refurb. SX50 as a backup camera to my Nikon Coolpix p900 (has a crack in the lens, but isn't effecting the photos, who knows could stop working right anytime.)
I didn't want to spend much money and the SX60 seemed a good value, there were no refurb SX50 I could find at the time.
Anyway, it arrived and I like it so far, just getting used to it, getting my settings down right, etc.
Recommending SX50 over SX60 for me is nothing discernible in the photos I would take. But thanks for your comment anyway. Don't have a doubt there are many, many happy SX60 users.

You will do just fine with this camera. It proved a bit much for the 65x long end so best to avoid zooming in max. Otherwise it will serve you well and at that refurbished price it is good value.
