The L Mount Will Come On Strong

"We already have the 14 lenses for Sony E-mount, so we’ll make L mount versions of those lenses, and they’ll start shipping next year. We’ll also start shipping brand new L mount lenses." - Kazuto Yamaki, CEO of Sigma

It looks to me like if Sigma, Panasonic, and Leica will all introduce new L-mount lenses next year, added to the L-mount lenses that Leica has already, and Sigma makes those 14 lenses they have in Sony E mount, then there will be about 25 to 30 lenses in L mount next year. I think that makes for a far better system than anything other than maybe Sony . . . but there are no other camera brands in the Sony mirrorless system. To me it's really key that three camera brands/manufacturers will be making bodies AND lenses for the L-mount system. I think that means there will not only be a greater variety in the L-mount world, but there will be more choice, because of that greater variety vs any other system - more choice of cameras and more choice of lenses. I think one day there will be as many people using L-mount cameras as any other system, except maybe m4/3 (because I think m4/3 will be seen as L-mount's inexpensive little brother, and the best place for newbies to start).

I wonder if Olympus or Pentax will join the L-mount alliance.
