Imaging Resource & Imatest

My understanding is that delta AB is far less accurate than delta 2000, and the latter is the standard. I don't understand why anyone would bother to run this test on every camera if they're going to introduce such a confounding factor in their results.

The difference in mean color difference is very large between the two.
Am I getting something wrong here?
