All this crippling talk.... is it a good thing for Canon owners

Let me explain.

Say they released the R and it was as good if not better than the 5d4. Basically it would kill the 5d4 sales and kill the resale of the 5d4 on the second hand market.

Owning 2 Canon 5D4's... Personally I would have been annoyed if they had done that.

By protecting their camera lines by limiting what is rolled out with new releases they not only protect their own product line they also protect the owners of the cameras in the upgrade path.

I know nothing of the Sony stuff.... I would be curious if the Sony A7III killed the resale of the previous cameras. Sony seem to roll new stuff out quickly.
