Could a sharp SD15 shot be made to look "film-like"?

Please imagine an excellent hypothetical shot, lots of fine detail, sharp edges, high contrast - culminating in the classic "digital image", maligned by some as "harsh", "gritty", etc.

No doubt there are many interpretations of "film-like", complete with suitably vague phraseology to match.

Be that as it may, I found this rather good article on the subject of grain and sharpness and stuff. Well worth a read:

http://www.tmax100.com/photo/pdf/film.pdf

There, I discovered that "grain" is not the same as silver crystals, and was able to find typical grain sizes of the order of 15um. Also, for Kodachrome 200 ASA film I found an MTF curve for which it said 30% MTF at 50 lp/mm on the emulsion.

That is low-ish compared to my SD15 which, on a good day, can get close to 50% MTF at about that same frequency or even higher ... a speculative assertion, but easy enough to test.

After digging into enlargement ratios - from film to print, and sensor to my monitor - it seems to me that a sharp SD15 shot could be made more "film-like" simply by applying a bit of smoothing or, better yet, a bit of convolution ...
