I returned mine för 3 reasons
1) build quality.... felt like a plastic toy with rickety (but fully functioning) buttons that were also way too small... the kitlens that comes with it is a joke - granted, pretty darn good IQ for a kit, but a joke in handling
Well, imo, the build is very solid.
2) viewfinder, after having X-T1 and Sony a6000 + a6300 the x-t100 viewfiner left a lot to be desired imho, specially since I mostly use manual legacy glass
Not buying it, sorry, as the previous owner of a6k and a6.5k x-t100 evf is superior in every respect.
3) ergonomy - strange that fuji whom I feel are great at handling design have inserted so many doubtfull aspects on this one...
- the top FN button requires dexterity and thin fingers to reach, 100% impossible to use with glove, barely able to find by feel with bare findger
Works absolutely fine, you must have sausage fingers, have mine set as ae-l but seldom need it as metering and the ev dial are brilliant, try using the ev dial on the Sony a6500 lol
- can't customize enough controls
I think you can, what is missing?
- the backside vertically placed rocker wheel... has anyone actually tried using it with a thumb?
I just use my finger, works superbly
As an extra niggle... I really wish Fuji would just go ahead and use a fully articulated swivel screen like Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Olympus, and every video camera worth mentioning have embraced. Why spend the money on R&D something that in the end weighs more than a swivel mount (x.-t100 double metal mount) and in the end offers less angles of use than what's already oem available on the parts market.....?
No, the implementation is superb, it flips behind the camera for low level of high level angles behind the camera, having a side flip panel is not intuitive for photography. Equally the camera can be use on a trip in portrait and still provide a horizontal/angled up view, it is absolutely brilliant, cant think of a single better lcd implementation.
All in all, a return for me. I'm stuck with a6300 for now, somewhat tempted by the X-T3 but really wished it had ibis for my legacy glass...
I'm looking forward to seeing what the x-t30 might look like though
All in all, pretty good for an "entry level" camera. People will always want more for zero dollars though. And they will always express frustration about this. This is how the later models somehow get better, I guess.
The one area in which there have been no compromises is the image quality. This is why I like my X-T100 so much.
