Hello! First post, beginner photog and I wouldn’t mind some advice.

I’ve had the NX500 for a couple years but really started using it this year with the birth of my daughter. I have the 30mm, 18-55mm, 16mm, 50-200mm and 16-50mm kit lens

I want a new lens.. looking at the 45mm or 16-50S. Which would be better for freezing motion? Since I already have the 30mm should I just get the 16-50S.

Thanks for any input

Congratulations!

The 30mm was always my favorite, alas the focus speed lets it down. The 16-50S is wonderful (if a little heavy) if you can find it at a good price - may be worth getting to pair with your body anyways. The 45 is superb and great value, but often i found it's not always wide enough. Play with your camera, get to know the controls, experiment with manual focus and learn to use focus peaking - you may be able to get some decent adapters and legacy lens. I had some great luck with an M42 lens and adapter.

One tip: always keep you camera charged and out somewhere accessible - it's the best way to get all those moments. If you're out and about, get a small case and stick the 16 or 30 on, you won't regret it
