manual strobe settings?

macro good for now - how about wide angle?

Today I switched from the 105mm macro lens to a 16-35mm zoom behind a 230mm dome port.   Completely different experience underwater shooting this way!  Went from looking for 1 inch targets to watching the entire wall.

I use this lens rarely, because in the past I've got poor-ish results.   This time I'm going to persevere for a while and try to advance my skills with it.

Camera settings are somewhat of a mystery to me, though they should start to come clear once I've downloaded today's dive pics and start processing them.

My starting settings are (all manual):

ISO:  800.   Partly because the ambient seemed about right with this at the beginning of the dive, and partly because I've read that ISO 800 is a sweeter spot than ISO 400 (on the D810) in terms of noise.

Shutter speed: I used 1/125th through 1/250th today.  Mostly around 1/200th though

Aperture:  Only F8 with this lens, up to F11 for some shots.  I'm hoping this will be stopped down enough.

flash:  manual power on the strobes, set a couple of clicks back from the macro settings, partly because of the ISO used, partly because of the aperture used.  I have a lot to learn here.  120 degree diffusers on there.
